The Olivetti Underwood Studio 44 was manufactured in the Olivetti factory in Barcelona, Spain. This one was manufactured post 1959, when Olivetti acquired Underwood and started producing machines marked with both names. Although it seems heavy now, this was classed a semi-portable model, as it was much lighter than many typewriters of the time.
It is claimed that the Studio 44 was one of Tennessee William's favorites. Whatever the story, it is a lovely working mid century typewriter, whether you choose it for its looks or its abilities!
Dimensions: Measures approximately 14" X 15" X 5" .
Condition: This typewriter is unrestored and in original condition and comes without a case. The exterior is in good, clean condition with only light wear and one tiny patch of missing color on the front lip. It has been tested under normal use and it works fine. You may prefer to get it professionally cleaned and it may need a new ribbon - this price will leave you plenty of spare change to do it!
