Japanese Tea Set $14.00

This traditional Japanese tea set with its stamped abstract fish design is modern, yet subtle.

The teapot has the customary one sided handle, with the spout facing towards you for pouring. As with most Japanese dining sets, five cups are included.

This set is unmarked. It is made of red earthenware, which has been textured before the light gray glaze was applied. The result is a striped appearance, like the ripples left in the sand as the tide goes out.

This is a lovely example of Japanese craftsmanship, elegant yet sturdy. Integral to the Japanese tea ceremony, a set like this is usually used for green tea - but feel free to substitute the beverage of your choice!

Dimensions: The teapot is approximately 4.25" high including the lid, and measures 3.5" in diameter across the base, 2.75" across the top. The cups measure 3.25" in height and have a top diameter of 2.25". The handmade nature of these pieces means the measurements may vary slightly.

Condition: In excellent vintage condition. The lid handle has an insignificant flaw, the nature of it makes it difficult to tell if it is minor damage or a small factory flaw. Please study the photos carefully.
