| IBM Selectric Composer Balls - Set of 3 |
$3.00 |
The IBM Selectric Composer was the first desktop typesetting machine, used by printers and small publications to produce camera-ready, justified copy. Released in 1966 and based on the popular IBM Selectric, the Composer used interchangeable typeface elements, allowing a quick change of font or style while creating a document.
These Composer balls are made of a lightweight alloy with a scalloped edge. Each has letters or numbers in relief and reverse, around the circumference of the ball.
IBM balls make quirky little industrial style interior design elements, arranged in groups or even upturned as miniature bowls... They are equally suitable for repurposing for all kinds of art projects.
If you are lucky enough to have a Composer, please email us for details of available fonts. Otherwise you will receive a mixed set of three balls, chosen at random.
Dimensions: Each ball measures just over 1" tall and 1.25" in diameter.
Condition: In very good vintage condition. Some balls may have identifying stickers or tiny amounts of paint on the plastic top.
